We custom-fit the jewelry to your desired size, typically a finger width of space off the wrist and then it’s welded or fused together using a quick and safe process. There are no needles or pain involved—just a small, quick spark from a precision welding machine above the skin with a leather patch below for added protection.

While it’s called “permanent,” you can have it removed at any time with scissors or wire cutters by cutting the jump ring that was welded together. If you ever need to take it off for any reason, it’s a simple process that won’t damage the jewelry. We would be happy to weld it back together for you.

At Spa Olivia, we offer solid sterling silver, gold filled and rosegold filled. The gold and rosegold filled chains are much thicker than regular gold plating so they won’t rub off. Approximately 5% of the weight of the chain is the precious metal on the outside of the base metal which is typically brass. These chains are durable, hypoallergenic, and made to last, giving you a beautiful accessory that stands the test of time. We can also do solid gold chains though these need to be ordered and paid for in advance. They are sold by the inch based on the market price when the order is placed.

Yes! The metals we use, such as gold and sterling silver, won’t set off metal detectors at the airport. However, for medical procedures like MRIs, you may need to remove it, so we recommend contacting the medical facility and practitioner for guidance beforehand. Cut the jump ring where the bracelet was welded shut and keep it. We will reweld it at no cost.

The process is quick and seamless, usually taking around 7-15 minutes from fitting to welding. It’s an easy add-on to your other spa services!

No! The term “permanent jewelry” is an unfortunate name because it has the connotations of being applied directly to your skin. The weld NEVER touches your skin. For a bracelet, the ends of the chain are welded together with a jump ring typically a finger width away the skin with a protective leather patch underneath while it is on your wrist. The leather patch is for additional protection of your skin, but the actual weld is done away from your skin.

We can weld a piece of permanent jewelry on anyone over the age of 7 years old. We may choose to add a clasp instead of a permanent weld depending on the age. Clients 16 and under need permission from their parent or guardian.
